Heater Blower Motor - front/dash

Thanks for the response. I have been putting this off since I didn't want to pay $1500-$2000 to replace both fans but these prices are definitely worth it. My current fan (I actually disconnected one because I couldn't take it anymore) does ok until I take a turn and then the squeak mouse in the cage won't go away.

Hard to know where Dansk sources their bits. I have a year and a half on my Uro motors and they're working fine. Very very slightly less output than the Porsche blowers but hardly noticeable. Maybe Dansk has an extra 5cfm for the extra ~$20 in their pricetag?

Actually guys, I'm running the JP classic line fans which are Dansk, not the URO ones that I previously stated...
Doubt there's much in it between them!
Only thing, I've seen people complain about the quality of some of URO's other parts, but to be fair they're a budget item filling a gap in the market!
You pay your money and take your chance.

Finally replacing these fans and put everything mostly back together. Now I have no blowers at all. I have checked all the electricial connections and fuses 1, 17, 28 mentioned on https://www.bergvillfx.com/porschehvac1. Wondering what I might have missed?
Also do the fans run when ignition is on or do you need to start the engine? Would help to confirm this for testing. Haven't driven all winter and even last summer I mostly kept the fans off because of the squeaking.

While I’m in there..
Hey all, about to order a couple of new fans and start this job.
Are there any obvious “while I’m there” things I should do during this process? Filters seems to be an obvious one, anything else, large or small?
thanks!

Just finished this job which took longer than expected. But when I turned on the fans on a high setting it sounds as if there is a rattle. Does anyone know if remove the top cover of the blower motor and turn it on will I’ll get a light on the dash?

When you test it make sure that all cables are connected. If the airbag sensor cables are disconnected and you turn on the ignition, the warning light will come on. The error then needs to be cleared with the diagnosis tool

check what has come between. Good with the covers. Not sure how food it is to get water in down there. Which one is it that rattle? One of them is pretty easy to access the other one a mess....

I recall needing to slide the plastic fan cage/blades very slightly forward/backward on the shaft. Otherwise it lightly interfered with some of the surrounding housing as it spun. The plastic cage is a press fit on the shaft and just takes some firm pushing/pulling. I think only one of my two fans needed nudged.
