Post Where to buy G-Tech? Does it work?

I am interested to buy the G-Tech, I think there are two versions, I am interested in the newer one.

Where i the best place to buy it (taking in account that I live in Spain).

Do you recommend it?

Thumbs up

Yes, I recommend this product. I have the older version, G-Tech Pro, and it is a great tool for evaluating mods. I've used it primarily for 0-60 comparisons as well as tire pressure adjustments (lateral g measurements). There are other testimonials on this board, mostly favorable, and I've seen it used in various automotive programs (Dream Car Garage) as well as written publications (Excellence).

I'm not sure what is the most practical way for you to purchase one in Spain. But Piers (Roygarth) in the UK may be able to point you in the right direction. There are various US sources, including Performance Products, and G-Tech's website provides contact info.

Enjoy!

Alex,

I just ordered the new model, the Competition. I should receive it this week and plan on using it at next weekend's autocross. I'll put up a mini-review once I've had a chance to evaluate it. I bought a Competition model when they first came out but it was defective. I returned it and decided to wait until now to give them a chance to work out the bugs. Hopefully this one actually works.

I had the old model and upgraded to the new comp model some months ago. It's a pretty nifty device and the new one's even better with more features than you'll ever use.

Just be aware that the absolute accuracy may be "off" but it's relative accuracy is top notch. I got different readings from the new and old but the diffrences are always a constant proportion - so it may be a factory calibration problem.

Anyway, I use it to measure relative improvements of various mods rather than trust the absolute number.

In all, HIGHLY recommended. Hours and hours of good fun. You'll be a popular guy at car meets

BTW Drew, let me know if they send you the PC download program. I've been waiting for that for the longest time and am running out of memory on the unit. They said it would be ready Dec 02 but nothing new has appeared on their website.

I got mine a month ago (Pro model), and like pzull I love it. I got the same "Real Soon Now"(tm) on the PC software and the next firmware version. I remain happy with the product and hopeful of future features.

I haven't Dyno'd my car so I have no input on accuracy, but I can say that the results are very repeatable so I believe the G-Tech to be very precise (relatively accurate).

Their web site now says the software will be available in "late May." I'll let you know if by some miracle mine comes with it.

rutz, the old version only measures peak bhp but doesnt tell u at what rev. the new one gives you an entire "dyno" graph. well worth the extra $$, Actually $ per feature, the new one is much better value and its got software upgrades in the pipeline....just hope something does flow thru the pipe some time
