Why would it be a shame for the kids?

Actually, I quite fancy Jamie Oliver's split sceen camper from last Sundays top gear - the one with the 3.6 flat 6 in the back!! It still sounded like a vee-dub somehow..

I agree, though, it didn't sound like a 3.6...

Interestingly, the M3 is, after 18 months of ownership, at the standard I like my cars to be at. Still got quite a way to go with the 964. Why to I sell cars when I get them right?

Cool

Now here is my answer, if somebody wants to know...........

FOR ME, A PORSCHE IS NOT A REAL CAR, IST A HOBBY, A WAY TO GET OFF YOUR STRESS, A WAY TO FEEL GOOD AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL, HAVE A LOT OF FUN IN A BEAUTIFUL TIMELESS DESIGNED PIECE OF ART.

I would buy a SUV ike a BMW X5 or a Mercedes ML, I like them.
a BMW M3 E46 would also not be a bad option.

Have a nice weekend you all!!

I'm sure the MG is great (Buy British too), but those add-on styling bits? EVO magazine said recently that the styling had been done by Peter Stevens...not THE Peter Stevens, but a different Peter Stevens, Manager of a branch of Halfords! I think I agree. (In particular, that rather strange exhaust trim on the bumper)

Rob, out of interest, how much is a near perfect M3 like that going for?

Oh, and in response to the original question, very likely an Alfa SZ ES-30 (1991).

Are you sure you're not thinking of the ZS - the smaller car with the massive rear spoiler? The ZT is rather more restrained and really is a superb car, especially for the money.

Peter Stevens (the real one) is a sound bloke and, like everyone at MG Rover now, a real petrolhead, so the cars are made to be fun to drive. Not convinced? Look at the XPower SV they're bringing out - 200mph for $60K. Nice! And then there's a 350bhp ZTR V8 on the way...

I'm getting a ZT on loan in a couple of weeks if you fancy a try...

Cheers

Phil

1)95 E36 M3
2)E30 M3
3) 5.0 Mustang (had one of these before the Porsche sickness set in. I sort of miss the rumble of american iron through the flowmasters I had on it. Not the best handling, crappy brakes, but it was really fun in a straight line).

Yep always liked the BMW E24 especially the M6.

If I had to sell the Porsche. Hmm Perhaps either 3rd gen RX7 or S4tt. Currently looking for E30 318is to keep the miles down on the 964.

That gives me an idea...Damon Hill started P1, where rich guys get to share flash cars (paid for by DH, members pay fees).

Why don't we start a 964 Rennlist club where we all put in a bit of cash - we could then buy a fleet of some of the cars mentioned in this post! (You there BrizeyBee?)

There are plenty of cars I'd have in ADDITION to the 964, but not instead of. However only when I'm allowed to have that in addition to my cab and not if I'm told I can only have one.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a huge car fan and have owned Lotus before and lusted for most of my life after Aston Martin, it is just now that having become hooked on Porsche heroin nothing else works for me (and that includes, somewhat sadly, new Porsches with their somewhat cheaper and mass produced attributes). My 964 puts a smile on my face and makes me happy and that is worth a lot to me.

...now if only Joey had posted his G-Tech times showing that the cup bypass I recently installed slowed my car at the low-end (which is where I want grunt) I'd be even happier
