Red face Where's the LUG WRENCH

May sound dumb, but I cannot see to find the lug wrench in my 1993 C2. Where is it supposed to be stored and what does it look like??

I have everything else, including some german gloves and a plastic bag but no lug wrench....

Any help appreciated....

Thanks!

On my 964 it is tucked in front of the bonnet, towards the bumber. Pull the carpet back and lean into your bonnet and look toward your knees. (Don't lean too far...)

Thanks for you help Bob,

I found the jack and jack handle stowed up there but I am still searching for the wrench....

Maybe it's MIA, strange since everything else is there and untouched...

I "think" it's in the roll up tool kit - But frankly I would not depend on it. Rather, I carry one of those crossed bar lug wrenches, with four sockets. I found a smaller one that doesn't take up much room - with the cross pieces, you can get considerably more leverage on the stubborn lug nuts, compared to the short, single arm lug wrench that comes with the car.

In the garage, however, I use my Snap-On 18-volt cordless impact wrench. Man, it spins those lug nut off in nothing flat! <img src="graemlins/bigok.gif" border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" />

Here's a pic of the lug wrench. It's the top most tool in the photo below.

I did not see the pic.

I found out I did not have mine Friday when my rear tire blew out on the freeway......
Anyway, can you repost the pic?

Thanks!

Your car most likely has aluminum lug nuts. They are very expensive and fragile. My suggestion is to buy an 18" long, 1/2" drive flex head socket wrench handle, and the special aluminum lined 19 mm socket that is sold to be used on Porsche's aluminum lug nuts. With this setup, you can change a wheel in about 120 seconds since you can break the nut loose then rotate the handle straight and spin it like a screw driver. With this setup you are less likely to damage your wheels compared to a tee-handle or the standard lug wrench. If you spin a tee-handle it could wobble and scratch the paint off the inside of the lug nut holes.

Thanks for the insight. I have the wrench, where can I get the special socket you mentioned?
