Help...need rear sway bar
Can anyone help me locate an 964RS rear sway bar part number 964 333 701 70 (18mm). I am trying to complete a suspension upgrade and new sway bar will not arrive in time for track event.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Guy, The Racer's Group sells a "copy" of that swaybar, in 18mm...consider going with theirs...will cost you a bit less.
Otherwise, you're on your own big dog.
Worst case scenario, I dunno what you have on the front, but if it's adjustable...put it on it's loosest setting for sure!

Thanks for the idea Jeff. I decided to stay with the factory sway bars. I am hoping someone has a used one for sale. Never give up if loosing a track day is at stake!

You might check with Gert - pick up his phone number or email at www.carnewal.com. He may be able to source one quickly (might even have one in stock), and DHL here is quick. I'd be surprised if anyone had a used one for sale, as most people add them, not take them out.
If you're willing to pay some expedite dinero's, check with Kenn at Reeves Porsche, who will discount the bar, but can also expedite it from Germany, if needed. Sometimes I've been surprised that some of the RS parts are here in the US - maybe that particular bar might be, and Kenn can check the inventory and tell you while you're on the phone. (No affiliation, just good service and discounted prices).
Schatz Motorsport may also have the bar in stock.

Thanks Bill,
That's a big help. Renewed hope for making the track event!
Also, I read your article on John's site. Which rear sway bar did you choose and why?

Surf,
You currently have a 22mm bar in front and a 20mm bar in back. You really only have a few choices. In front, you can go up to either 25mm fixed or 25mm adjustable, and in the rear, you could install a 21mm fixed or one of the larger adjustables.
The Porsche parts available are the 25mm front adjustable sway bar (used on the Carrera RS), and in the rear, the 21mm fixed bar (used on the 1990 C2) or the 18mm adjustable bar (also used on the RS). I like the adjustable bars, as you can better tune the chassis towards a more neutral position, however, I do think 18mm isn't enough in the rear. So, in my case, I used the 25mm Porsche adjustable bar in front in addition to the adjustable 21mm bar in back. If you go with the RS bar in front, you also need the right drop links. I think I included the parts list when I wrote up the install, which is on John Miles www.porsche964.co.uk site under the technical category. Other vendors make/sell fixed and adjustable bars besides Porsche, too.

Bill,
I emailed Gert. at 9:30pm last night and he responded by 6:00am. He will have the sway bar to me in Connecticut within eight days. WOW!
Thanks for your help!
Dinner is on me next time I see you at the track.

Guy,
On the front sway bar, you also need a few parts in addition to the bar. They are:
Part Number, Qty, Description
964.343.792.07, 2, Stabilizer mounting/rubber bushing
964.343.777.80, 2, Clip/Swaybar Bushing holder
964.343.071.80, 1, Suspension/Stabilizer (Left link)
964.343.072.80, 1, Suspension/Stabilizer (Right link)
999.084.624.02, 2, Locking nut
Gert can provide the other parts too. You might be able to get by reusing the stock rubber bushing holder, however, the RS one's are a bit stronger. You probably already read the article on installing the RS bar on www.porsche964.co.uk under the technical section.
