Anyone know how to remove a broken off wheel lug nut? I had one reply to a previous question by a Rennlister who said the topic is mentioned in the '89 repair manual. However, the question was lost during the server glitch. I can see grinding is one option, but it could get ugly. Are there any special tools, or cutters available that would make it less damaging?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve;
I told you the way that Porsche recommends, using a 17.5mm hole saw. I have the part numbers and the recommended tool company. The other option was to drill holes in the perimeter and use a drift punch to rotate it off. Sauer-Werkzeug GmbH & Co

Thanks for writing again, Kevin. Since the message was lost, I didn't know if I missed any of the details. I have tried drilling a few holes in the nut, which is easy to do. But you cannot rotate it with a drift. Since the nut is recessed into the wheel, you are basically coming down directly on top of it, and you cannot get any rotational force on it.
I will contact the company and try to purchase the hole saw. I'll let you know how it works out.
Thanks again.
Steve
