964 Track Preparation Article
In the better late than never category, for those who did not get the March 2004 PCA Panorama magazine, I've uploaded the article, which you can access
here It has one or two updates as originally published. There are embedded pictures and charts in the Word file, which can take a few moments to load.
Note, link updated 5/10.

Yes, I've got it at home. I'll see if I can e-mail it to you or something.
I guess you're thinking about next week at Oulton Park. For your first trackday in a 964 you just need to check the basics to ensure the car is fit for the day. These are:
Tyres have a decent amount of tread
Check the tyre pressures are correct and monitor them throughout the day
Check the wheel nut torques are correct
Ensure your brake pads are not too worn (I would say you want at least 5 mm of meat on them if they are standard pads)
Ensure your brake fluid is reasonably fresh (less than 2 years old but preferably less)
Remove any loose objects from inside the car and the boot
Give the inside of your windscreen a good clean (it's all about vision )
Bring some top oil just in case you use some (don't be tempted to fill right to the top of the dipstick before you go - it's actually better to be near the minimum for track temperatures)
Don't forget to bring your driving license and helmet
I'll have various tools, a floor jack, a torque wrench and a tyre gauge that you can borrow and we have garages to store stuff in.
See you there

thx steve, really looking forward to it (feeling like a kid again at xmas, the expectation is huge!).
pretty confident got all those points covered, apart from wheel nut torques - had new tyres fitted last week, but they didn't inflate them to the right pressure so pretty sure the torques will be out too. will gladly borrow your tools on the day.
only 6 sleeps to go...!
