Thanks Nick,

#1 is already done.
#2 my windshield rubber seal is broken in 3 parts. I was thinking about replacing it but I wasn't sure that was the reason. Pelican only sells the OEM version. Is it good enough or should i buy the porsche seal?
#3 The window seal with the top is pretty tight although it might be necessary to make some adjustment.

The rain leak only showed under very heavy rain storm.

I've had the same problem since getting the car in 2008. When I turn left, the rain comes in all over my lap. Really nice when wearing khaki suit pants and you have to get out and explain why only your crotch is wet.

I bought the center seal that attaches above the windshield. It's one long piece that doesn't look anything like what's currently on the car. What I bought was p/n - 911-561-244-01.

On my car, there is a seam or crack in that seal above each sun visor and it looks like the seals on the sides extend down the A-pillar.

Here's what it looks like next to what's there.

The green circle is where the seam/split is in the existing rubber.
The blue circle shows the top rubber is the same as the side rubber.
The yellow circle is the new seal that I ordered from pelican, p/n above.

I've also done the canvas sealer and my windows are more aligned than ever.

I do confirm the top seal goes along the sides of the A-pillar. It's p/n: 911 799 565 80 and this is what pelican says about it:

"This is a very common replacement seal on the 911. This is the seal that runs across the top of the windshield, and also down the sides. It is a one-piece seal that often breaks in to three pieces at the corners of the windshield."

alfred_hybrid: Did the new top seal solved your issue with water? What is the canvas sealer?

Thanks

Looks like I got the wrong part. I'll have to exchange it and get the right one.

Alfred, I made that mistake too. The seal you bought is the one on the front of the top itself.

Buy some 3M seal glue too. You'll need it for this one. And having breaks in that seal will definitely cause rain leaks.

You should reseal your canvas periodically. I do it ever 2-3 years. I've used the Porsche Cabriolet Top Conditioner. I use 2 cans to do the top. Others have had good luck with RaggTopp.

I wonder if I should keep the one I bought and replace it as well as buying the right one.

3M seal glue is this?

^ That's the stuff.

I think the seal on the front of the convertible top may be much more involved to replace.

Just ordered the right seal. $128 from Pelican. Will let you all know if it stops the rain from getting in.
