Can anybody point me in the direction of where I can find some black rubber floor mats to fit the 964?

Why not get black Loyds or another brand carpet mats. Rubber is kind of cheap looking isnt it?

I'm not familiar with Lloyds, but I will look into them. I wanted to go with some high quality thick rubber mats as they are fairly subtle and easy to maintain, especially given the frequent rain showers here in Florida.

The problem I find with rubber mats is the water runs off them right onto your carpet as soon as you break or accelerate hard. So what's the point?

I got the "RUBBERTITE 4 PC CAR MAT SET" from AJ-USA (no affiliation).

They work great - used them last winter and the water does not run off - even sliding in the snow.

For what it's worth, I would probably change all the belts as well, including the distributor belts. They tend to dry rot over time, and with such low mileage, it would be cheap insurance against anything failing.

The car arrived today a couple of days early. I would post pictures, but frankly I'd rather be driving.

Dr. Phillips, helping to balance out the Orlando 964 population. Can't have all of them around Altamonte...

Bic, you are a lucky man!! As far as driving a 964 in FL (we have a 91 we keep in Naples), the only negative is attaching and removing the boot every time you put the top up and down...but since ours is a 2nd car there we leave it down except for storage.

The folks who talk about the deterioation of some of the parts are certainly correct. The vent kit is essential IMHO, but the belt connecting the distributors should be examined anyway, which is not a cheap deal if you take it to a mechanic.

If you decide to sell it then you probably won't have to invest in it, however.
I would also ask some questions of Adrian Streather www.adrianstreather.com His book is a worthwhile read if you stay with any 964.

I would also contact Excellence Magazine as well as the Porsche Club of America www.pca.org and see if they are interested in doing an article on it. I bet one of them would and that might very well enhance the price if you choose to sell it.

I agree it probably is the lowest mileage 964 in the US.
Also make sure you have what little documentation there might be on the car.

Man, you are one fortunate guy to have these kinds of decisions to make! PLease keep us posted!

I really appreciate all the tips. I can already attest to the cab cover nuisance, as I was literally less than half a mile into my first top-down drive when it began drizzling (despite abundant sunshine). I noticed in the owner's manual that it says to use the cover for the cab top each time, but I have noticed that several owners do not do this. Is there a safe speed that the car can be driven up to without having to worry about damage to the cab top if the cover is not on (maybe 30-40mph)? Also, I have been unzipping the rear window flap and flattening it across the back shelf before putting the top down to prevent wrinkling. Should this be standard procedure? Is there anything else I can do to avoid getting creases when going topless?
