It is well known by just about everyone that low milage, perfect condition cars are a real drag on the market. I recommend that you pass this up fast.
PS: Send me your grandpas phone number and address

If you choose to get the Cab, I would definately negotiate the licence plate off the Merc 600SEL as part of the package.......
IMHO it would be a shame to pile the miles and modifications onto such a gem. If I were you, I would invest considerably less on a 75k+ miler that will have had most of the common issues resolved by now and enjoy it, rather than constantly worrying about it.

I had to dig this thread up again because at last the car I spoke about in the first post is mine. The '90 C2 Cab Tip has 1,900 miles on it and will start its journey from New York to Orlando tomorrow onboard a covered trailer. Barring any delays, it should get here on Monday, and I'll try to post some pictures of her on here shortly thereafter. This is definitely going to be the longest 5 days of my life...
I am still debating whether I will keep this car or sell in favor of getting a 987. While I love the 964, if I were to keep it long term I would be dumping a fair amount of money into it for maintenance, audio upgrades, and various small cosmetic changes (i.e. mirrors, rims). A 987 would give me comparable performance, the modern amenities I'd like, a pragmatic soft-top, and the ever important warranty. Not to mention that I'm just a huge fan of the new Boxster in general. Getting one would definitely be contingent upon how much I could receive for the sale of the 964, so I would need to find a buyer willing to make a generous offer. If anybody on here knows of one, feel free to let them know about this car.
In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my new ride, keep the miles down, and leave it bone stock. Oh, and I look forward to being a participating member of the Porsche family!

Any fellow Orlando forumers care to offer their opinion as to how Porsche of Orlando treats 964 owners? Do they give loaners when you take your car in for service?

I dont personally use them for service but i think Jaime (Wachuko) has. Maybe he can help you about that. I have heard Redbones is a good place to go but again havent needed any work done that I couldnt take care of myself. Maybe a group get together in the future??

If you go to sell it, join the porsche club of america and list it in their magazine if you go to sell it (free for members)- good organization to join anyway. Can't wait for the pictures! Only fault with the car from a collector/desirability standpoint might be the automatic tranny, but definitely a very very nice ride!
By the way, seriously consider before you modify this car- even changing the stereo- it is basically an irreplaceable time capsule car at this point. I'm not saying don't drive it, but you may want to keep everything stock (except for something like the distributor vent kit, which is arguably preventative maint.)
Good luck with it- the wait stinks waiting for the truck to arrive![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
