Thumbs up Met John Boggiano and Rob Mugglestone in person......

Yesterday I met John, Paula and Rob in Germany, on the Nordschleife. Nice to met the guys in person. They cam later in the afternoon, unfortunataly they missed JW Hubbers, he was also there.

The weather was bad in the afternoon, but we could drive a few laps on a dry track earlier that day.
Because of a few seriouse accidents we had to wait a long time before track was reopend. Then it started to rain and it was veeeery slippery on the track.

John, Paula and Rob drove a 'carefull' lap, just for to use to the track.

It was nice meeting them in person!

I met JB, Paula and Rob as well at their hotel on Saturday evening on the way out. I agree, very nice people and look forward to seeing them again at some stage...hope they all drive safely - we know Rob has a penchant for taking off in his 964...!

Arjan

I hope so too, it was only possible to come this time if I could get back by Sunday evening due to work commitments...and as JB and co. were only getting the train at 10am or so UK time, it would mean spending only 1 hour or so before I have to drive back...so....next time I hope!

That about sums up the damage - that and a shattered ego.

My pride and joy is not too seriously damaged, she drove home and she'll live to fight again. The appointment with the beauty parlour is already scheduled.

As for the Armco - well I got the pleasure of a trip round the track with the officials and we jointly inspected the offending section of Armco. We decided that the small line of Amythist paint on it should be retained for its beauty rather than replacing the section. So no invoices are expected from the Nurburgring.

Arjan - you don't want to humilate me any more in public - do you? are photos necessary?

I too have met Mr Boggiano in person. A thoroughly nice chap apart from the tendancy he has to slobber whilst he is talking. I found that quite disturbing. But apart from that, very nice.

No Irishdriver, I just took the shot by accident, not knowing that it was you. I will NOT post it over here, don't worry. Why feel bad about the accident, I know how easy you can go off the track there, no shame to you. It's a damn tricky track.
I hope your damage will be repaired nicely. I would claim this by the insurance of your car, at least I hope you are all risk insured. It will cover the damage for a 100%.

Looks like P and I beat Rob back onto Rennlist, unless I missed a thread elsewhere.

We had a horrendous drive back up Britain to Cheshire. Eight hours of crawling stop/start traffic.

All of us returned undamaged and happy.

LOTS of pictures to follow when I get the chance.

Nice meeting everyone.

Too bad we didn't hear JW's text arrive and therefore missed him by 5 mins.

Ironically, I saw JW leaving just as we arrived at Nurburg but, by that time, we had encountered so many 911s that I had stopped flashing them and I don't think he spotted us, due to the appalling weather.

Arjan - I'd like to thank you publicly for giving us 2 laps of the ring on your unused ticket. Very generous of you, very much appreciated, and very much in the spirit of the Rennlist 964 forum. I owe you one!

John - my journey back last night was awful too. By 8pm I'd got as far as I wanted! Today was very busy driving around so only just got on Rennlist (actually, I did have a quick peek at Adrian's thread this morning
