Cup 1 actual weights

I weighed many of these years ago. The weights I have for the 7.5 is 23.3 pounds and the 9's were 25.9 but that was using a bathroom scale. These are not light. Although lighter than my speedlines by a pound + they are smaller overall in dia and width. Note that my 7.5's are for my 928 GTS and have the RDK sensors which might add or subtract a small amount.

Awesome, thanks. Trying to figure out a suitable replacement for the magnesium Cup 1's
The mags weigh 18.7 pounds for 7.5" and 20.5 pounds for 9". Not particularly light either but still a 20 pound difference overall.

Have been looking at these as an alternative to oem magnesium.

I have been speaking with Dan, at Augment, about these wheels. They are an interesting solution. 2 piece with magnesium center bolted to an aluminum barrel. It sounds like they are a tiny bit lighter than the oem magnesium. He can make them so they accept oem center caps.

I understand the mags are too valuable and hard to come by to waste. Usually mag counterpart would be 1/3rd less but SM added additional material making the spokes flat across the back for strength which didn't reduce the overall weight by as much as if they were cast identically. Unfortunately if you are looking for Cup I style wheels most aftermarket versions either don't look quite correct or weigh more. I don't have an RS so I run Fikse's which are 16 and 19 pounds for 8&10x18's. I personally appreciate the lighter wheel weight. I can't run anything but Speedline's on my 94 turbo although they are even heavier they look so good on the car.

Yes, $7500 is steep but trying to find replacements for my oem magnesium wheels is getting more difficult every day and its getting extremely expensive Maybe a group buy?
