So changing up plans and going to a 3.8RSR build with 993SS cams. There are faint scratches on a few journals on the crankshaft. After some reading there appears to be a few schools of thought. Firstly serious engine builders realize that the oil thickness between these surfaces is .00005" so any tiny deviation is an issue. Others just throw it back in and pray as they "have done it for 25 years and never had an issue" I have a few crankshaft specialists in my area that deal with micro-polishing, or even 1st undersize. Some of these cranks are going for 5-10k. Any advice would be appreciated.
