Default What's this?

Whilst repairing (that's 'breaking' really, of course - I take after Howard) the mounting for my air-filter box, I came across this mystery item.

What is it?

I'm not sure it has a purpose, John. It's threaded, correct? If so, it seems it could be used to hold a part/bracket/what-have-you into place. I actually used it to attach a support bracket to hold up my cone filter.

I take Umbrage to this remark!

JB, as long as you keep at least a 60:40 ration of fixing to breaking you'll be ok in the long run...and never bored!

John - how about a nice loose-fitting leather cover for it - smarten it up nicely!

Then you can try applying some 'loose' driving technique and see if it will stay on the road!

Hi John

I have an eyelet threaded into it to wit a string is attached which in turn is tied to the rag which plugs up my oil fill tube thereby limiting how far the rag is sucked down the oil tube.

Just kidding

Is it an unused fuel rail clamp location? I think when the induction trumpets were manufactured they decided to make them all the same and not do a special run for the two in the middle of the rail where there is no mounting required....my 2 cents.
