What's this?
Whilst repairing (that's 'breaking' really, of course - I take after Howard) the mounting for my air-filter box, I came across this mystery item.
What is it? |
Hi John
I have the same on mine. Bill 90C2 |
Ah. Yes. But...
|
A licourice allsort?
|
I'm not sure it has a purpose, John. It's threaded, correct? If so, it seems it could be used to hold a part/bracket/what-have-you into place. I actually used it to attach a support bracket to hold up my cone filter.

John - how about a nice loose-fitting leather cover for it - smarten it up nicely!

Hi John
I have an eyelet threaded into it to wit a string is attached which in turn is tied to the rag which plugs up my oil fill tube thereby limiting how far the rag is sucked down the oil tube. Just kidding Bill 90C2 |
darth, you are referring to your car, right?
|
If you take a look on the other side of the engine, its there too.

Is it an unused fuel rail clamp location? I think when the induction trumpets were manufactured they decided to make them all the same and not do a special run for the two in the middle of the rail where there is no mounting required....my 2 cents.
