Default 8 inch wide rim

Hey guys,
Have any of you been able to put an 8 inch wide rim on the front of your narrow body 964. I found some rims with an offset of 57mm but 8 inch wide which i think will stick out from the fender.

8 inch wide rim will fit - it is your offset I'm worried about. Offset (ET) of 57, and you'll likely need to throw 5mm spacer in there, and you still may rub on full turn. I'd say with a 8" rim, 47 to 50 is about magic. An offset of 57 is too far "IN" your fender. You need a lower number that will push the wheel OUT.

Is this a 17 or 18" wheel and what tire? That would help.

I'm running a 7.5" x 17 on the front with 225 tires but the offset is 65 so I'm running a 15mm spacer. Normal offset with the 7" wheel is 55

It's an 18 inch wheel. I haven't decided on a tire. You have a recommendation on size. But won't the wheel stick out pass the fender if you use a spacer.

You can easily fit an 8" wide wheel up front. I ran 8" cup 1s with +55 offset without any issues for awhile, and I'm currently waiting on a set of BBS E87s with an 8" front and +50mm offset. I agree with @dmaddox, that if you run a +55, I'd be more worried about rubbing when the wheel is turned full lock. If you're concerned about clearance on the fender/outer half of the wheel when the suspension is compressed, you could look for a tire that has a more "sculpted" shoulder or you could stretch a 205 or 215. With a +55 offset, you should have a bit of room to "push" the wheel out with a spacer and not have too much poke.

factory 964 Carrera cup used 8 ET52 front w/ up t a 245/40 x17 tire

rear would have been 9.5 Et47 w/ 275/40 x17 tire

I have 8" wide wheels (18" rim) with 52 mm offset on my car. 225/40 tires. Stock suspension. No spacers. With aggressive driving in the canyons, there is some rubbing, both on the inner and outer edges.

I run a 17x8 et 56.7 with 15mm spacer (et 41.7) You will be fine with 18x8....That being said make sure you have the larger steering stops on your tie rods. to help prevent rubbing. Can't recall at the moment. but there is a good thread in here on 964 wheel fitment if not mistaken.

I run a standard 8 ET52 rear cup 1 wheel at the front of a normal C4 with a 225 tire with no rubbing at all
i run a 9 ET55 cup 1 wheel with a 255 tire at the back with a 15mm spacer without rubbing, or a 9.5 ET47 with a 255 without any rubbing
