Exclamation Early call for Scottish Brunch - Now Saturday June 12th!!

STOP PRESS! - Please note revised date, Sat. 12th June - sorry for the short notice!

My good friend McJohn McHunter has offered to host a small (that's what he thinks!) gathering of the clan McRennlist for late breakfast/early lunch on the above date.

Paula and I (plus the Blue Shadow) will be on our way to the Highlands (wipe a tear, Ruairidh) for a week-long jaunt on the nation's most glorious roads.

Tradition has it that we stop off at McJohn's extensive haggis & lawn sausage eatery late morning en-route.

A new tradition has it that others of the Rennlist persuasion arrive (late ) to similarly partake.

McJohn would like to know how many haggis to plant so anyone who thinks they might like to call by, please make yourselves known ASAP.

The location is Kingskettle in Fife. There will be much merryment and mirth. Principally at the Blue Shadow's expense. Let's crack open a neep or two!

John, I think my move north to Derbyshire still makes it a bit of a trek to Scotland for breakfast!

...and McJohn should have planted by now - may already be too late for a June harvest.

You bet, Ian.

That's one booked!

P.S. Rob, McJohn uses a special fertilser consisting of dead sporran remains and ancient whisky to speed the haggis growth. Actually, there is another constituent, but we agreed never to talk of it after the thought made us all sick.

..and the terrible misty Fife night where he mistook the mixture for pomade is remembered to this day..

Count me in (officially)

Sent a heads-up to Christian Stewart (black cab from last year) and 'Turbo Ronnie', elusive 993TT-owning fellow closet ricer.

I've a feeling Christian won't check his PM's too often - will maybe try and find a 'phone number..

Feeling a little quiet today, though - a good mate comprehensively binned his M roadster yesterday. He's unhurt, TF.

Would love to join in again - I'm sure we can work on arriving in time for the ceremonial barbeque lighting rather than fizzling out this time.

Strathearn backroads again?? Sad thing is I'm sacreligiously considering chopping in the old black girl for half a Radical..... have I completely lost my marbles?? Most probably....

I'm surprised Christer hasn't said he'll come. His car is far more likely to be ready that weekend than it is for the April trip to Wales!

I guess that is true. 9M know that I would like it back on 24th April, but by the 29th April at the latest as I am driving to Cornwall. I am not sure that this means anything to them however, so we will just have to wait and see!

Christian, I expect we might actually be able to keep up if you're in half a Radical. As long as it's the half without an engine.

Struth, I'd better go and hoe the neep field, and weed the sausage patch

Johnny and Christian ... be delighted to see you chaps here again, and to the rest of you, the more the merrier

See you all on the 13th Edit by JB - he means 12th, now!
