To post or not post ?
Hey Turbo Friends,
A friend of mine said something to me the other day, Why do I post everything I do to my car? Basically letting everyone know my business, My question to you all is, Do you all think there's an added value by posting about issues, repairs, and maintenance that we all do to our cars?
The way I see it is that if I ever were to sell my car the buyer could one day see the repairs and maintenance I've done over the years here on the forums, Kinda like a diary of sorts. Your thoughts

Post as much as you like, it all adds to the collective group knowledge.

I wonder sometimes if there’s a real point to my project posts. But what the hell, someone will read it and find it interesting even if they don’t reply.
Basically... keep posting.
Basically... keep posting.

Post away my man! We all enjoy any type of content and you never know who you can help in the future with your post. Also, like you mentioned, it is a nice online service record or mod record as well.

Good question! I wonder about that myself sometimes also.
Posting is not the issue, lurking is... why come here and not contribute in some small way, even just to give a post a thumb up? Support the good people on this forum. The idea of posting to a website/forum might have been stranger 10, 20 years ago, but it’s basically the same concept as posting family pics on Facebook or travel pics on Instagram. Which everyone now does. I lurked for years. Years before I bought a 964, then even for a while after I had one so I get it. One day I decided to step up. The community had done too much to support me to where I couldn’t at least give something back. As small, useless and random as my contribution is.
Like life in general, you can watch it all happen around you, or engage and be rewarded.
I initially wouldn’t have felt comfortable buying a 964 without this group. With the knowledge I gained here I slowly got comfortable with the idea of buying one and I can’t be more grateful because I’ve been rewarded many, many times over. I just love sharing this passion with others, and like looking back at old posts to remember my journey. I laugh at some many of my old posts and they bring back so many good memories of what I’ve done and who I’ve done them with.
One last thing as I ramble...
If you don’t post, reach out or connect, nothing will happen. If you do post, maybe someone will send you a nice PM, maybe envite you to an event, sell you a car that’s not on the market, tireless help you with a problem or invite you to dinner at their home. All that and more has happened to me. Even in a couple different countries! Thank you to all the guys that I’ve connected with on this forum. You’ve made owning a stupid car so much more that the sum of its parts and I thank you for making me a better person though that.
I guess I’ve just answered the question for myself and will keep posting. Just wish more would contribute, so they can be rewarded in the same way I have rewarded. Now to edit some sweet photos I took of the car this past weekend. Can’t wait to share them!

I have no plans of ever selling my car, but I am glad that the previous records include old Rennlist posts, since posts often contain pictures and invoices typically do not.

Without posting on this forum I will never know the white Beetle like car I found in a barn was a gem, thank you all!
Plus I also sold my beloved 996 tt (1140 hp monster!) without a single ad the lurker sent me a PM requesting if he can test drive it which he did and brought the mullah the following weekend in a brown bag.

I have been restoring my Alfa GTV for a frightening number of years and regularly look back to my old threads to recall what I, myself did to the damn car. More than once discovered I'd bought/installed parts I was about to buy again ha.
Post on!

Been looking for a late GTJ here in the UK but they've gone well expensive... Not quite 964 money yet though!

Love the posts from others and will post here as much as time allows on my end (always the limiting factor). Can't tell you how much time and $ I've saved learning from other people's experiences.
