Default Do I really need these switches?

Looking to do a center console delete and was considering the rennline offerings to move the switches up to the dash. I have 4 switches in my 1990; hazard, exclamation point, lock, and the dial for raising and lowering the spoiler. The only one I ever use is the hazard so I could possibly just get a hazard switch from an earlier and install it in the dash. Am I missing something about the necessity of these other switches?? Then I can keep the continental radio though I only really use it for phone calls and navigation instructions anyway.

I relocated and recently have wondered if I needed to! My wing is gone, the passenger door is reachable and the central warning system is really redundant. The only worthwhile button is the hazard. Switch to a pull **** and integrate next to the rear defrost.

If you want to delete the central warning... this might help:

My thoughts exactly. Well I still have the wing for the moment- but I still don't see why I need to operate it manually except to adjust the limit switches. In that case I could just hook up the switch temporarily or jump terminals.

I'll look into the informer. The only time I get the ! is when there was a problem with the spoiler operation.

I've also done the centre console delete recently and moved all the switches to the dash.
Replaced the rotary spoiler switch with a 993 version and did the same with the rotary C4 diff lock.
It's relatively simple to do if you remove the wiring loom tape, as you don't need to extend any wires.
If you wanted to keep the radio and were not worried about the switches, you could always tuck them up under the dash.
I've also seen people get creative with removing the ash tray and making a switch panel fit there...

I kept my switches, but replaced the spoiler control with an RS package box. Pretty handy to store stuff, like a phone or hand sanitizer now.

Thanks George. Just moving them is probably the easiest thing to do. I'm the fence with the radio. On one hand I really only use it for navigation and phone calls and I could just as easily use a headset or Bluetooth speaker for that. On the other had I already eliminated my front and rear fog lights so I have 2 spots I can use there and either keep the continental or just get a cover plate and close it entirely. Actually considering a hidden bluetooth stereo if I stick with it but that's down the road a bit.

Yeah that's a cool option for sure. Can keep my mask in there- haha. But I'm committed to getting the center area clean. I did pick up a similar bin that goes behind the hand brake.

Not sure if this helps, but I sort of wanted the same thing. So I added an amp under the seat and a USB DAC/charger that is routed to a usb connector in the old cigarette lighter location. There’s probably a Bluetooth option out there but I wanted charging.

Now I can listen to Apple Music and get turn by turn through the speakers.

That's a great set up. I've been using bluetooth with the Continental but it keeps disconnecting and re-connecting so I miss the first part of any turn by turn directions. There's a work around but I can't remember what ATM. Was also considering this:

I'm not an audio guy- what does that isimple thing do? Just connect USB to the amp. What kind of amps can be controlled directly with the phone?

I pushed mine as far forward as possible, you can see them in my pic.
My plan is to have a very low profile centre console.
Which will be an extension of the original that'll have a handy tray ahead of the gear stick and cover the accelerometers.

964George,
where did you find the switches to move the center console switch to the radio location. I have modified my center console, but have had to keep the original switches (modified mount) as I can’t find replacement switches with the same terminal set up. This does not leave a clean look. Would appreciate a share on switches and how you wired them up. Thanks

This my modified center console with original switches modified to fit.
