Concrete is dry enough to walk on now...here is a closer look at the lift recess:

I see you have the same high tech ramps that I have for my lift! Great ideas come from great minds!

I copied Spokes. I love my lift.

The ramps are good but I’d love to have the lift recessed if I could.

Maybe raise the rest of the whole garage floor instead

The other blue lift in your picture - a low level long reach lift?

AC Jack. Absolutely brilliant piece of kit as a complement to the scissor lift.

+1 on AC jack. Expensive but likely last jack I will own.

Thanks!
Andrew

I also have a AC jack, I’m pretty certain I won’t be replacing it in my lifetime.
I really like the recessed scissors jack Scopes, it looks like you’re going to have a very nice garage.
It appears the scissors jack limits access between the front and rear axles. Has anyone not been able to do some work on their cars for that reason? I have a QuickJack that works great for a lot of things but I wish for something that lifts a little higher and with less obstruction.

I am using Bendpak mid-rise and not had any any trouble accessing things. I've done a couple motor/trans drops. You can always add spacers to the lift pads which will give you extra clearance.

Interesting. Definitely would use this where I were looking to place the car on stands at the normal lift points (where normally it's difficult when a 'normal' jack obstructs any stand placement).

Went through the same thinking when making the buy decision. However, once up in the air and locked, once I could get right in the middle it wasn't an issue - plenty of elbow room to remove/replace the longitudinal diff lock slave cylinder (which is about an awkward place as any to get at). Front diif access was no problem either.

What are the dimensions of the floor recess? I’m in the process of building a new garage and looking at lift options.

see post#1 it has the dimensions. Suggest you measure the depth needed based on your lift. There will be a 22mm wood sheet over the recess. You need to allow for that and a lip to place the sheet.

Only a small amount of progress. Concrete block done. The garage floor is ~0.5m below ground level (compliance on overall height), Hence the block wall acts as a retaining wall. Green house at one end. His and her end

Very neat so far. Don’t rush things though! Just wondering what the actual building is going to be constructed with, brick, block, etc? Keep the updates rolling. Thanks so far!

A combination of concrete block, steel (colour bond) and cedar. All materials match the house. Green house will be wood framing and clear polycarbonate.
