Can I get your wife's phone number? My wife is giving me grief on adding a 3rd 911 (991.2 GT3) to the stable and she could really use some coaching from a professional (your wife) and how to support our madness. In fact, this might be a nice side business for you!

LOL,

You guys crack me up.
Yes I am quite lucky to have a wife who gets it. It wasn't always that way. At one point she told me cars are just to drive to and from the malls. Once I started her on Auto Cross and then DE she became addicted. Although be careful what you ask for. She then took on charity for our local PCA region. Guess who got volentold to help. Then Social which we have been doing since 2007. She is now our local PCA secretary and Zone 1 Secretary. So the tables have somewhat turned. I still am allowed the projects as she sees and understands the value. If only she saw it when I wanted to buy the 959 and 94 turbo S Flachbau when they were affordable. .

As far as this car, I believe it was Tim Costa's car. I spoke with the guys at Hairry Dog that built the car and I believe that name was mentioned but don't recall. They are sending me the build paperwork. Car has custom valved Cup car suspension, RS sways, all monoball and a bolt in cage. I like that it was a C4 converted so it has the electro hydraulic brakes and big brakes already. Cage will go and the rest will be another huge project but nothing will happen until the two I am working on are completed. The car was sold out of Autometrics. Gordon was nice and easy to deal with and have a great reputation which helped buying it sight unseen easier. Apparently it sold and the deal fell through. I was fortunate enough to be informed it was going back on the market and pulled the trigger. They wouldn't budge on price but IMO was the perfect candidate for my needs. I learned early on a few grand here or there is not worth haggling over and loosing a deal over. A lot of the work is already done but no doubt there will be many things needed. Since it will be a full build I would be redoing everything eventually. Cobalt is a high probability as this would also save me time. But the interior will be stripped and tub seam welded.

Interestingly I have been contacted by several people who were very interested in this car as well since I posted this. So I guess I got lucky. The guys at Hairry Dog said they have another track car getting ready to go on the market but at double the price.

They say Patience is a virtue and it has paid off. I am an impulsive buyer yet each car purchase I made took a year or more of searching before finding the right car. Considering the other donor cars I looked at this is a gem.

Meanwhile cool shot time. I am in the process of finishing my twin turbo build exhaust for track duty and will be doing straight pipes out the back end. I will also make a cross pipe exhaust with resonators for tracks with dB restrictions. Once it is fitted the Intercooler build will commence. I will be using two of the latest Garrett IC's with a center out so it will be a chore to build like the exhaust. But my OCD does take over at times. Ignore the bumper it is being painted over as I am adding the RS center section. Although I am thinking of saving it now for this next car. The exhaust will be a 3" SS pipe with the WG feeding into it. I suspect this will be a flame thrower when done.

Congrats on the purchase, I'll be watching what you do with it. One of these days I will wear my wife down so I can get a second Porsche.

I found a short cut to converting my wife's perspective on "additional" cars. I was hanging out with some guys from church who rode motorcycles and the wife suggested I join them. Fortunately - she never really got comfortable with bike scene and only rode on the back of mine once. One evening I'm standing in the garage looking at what was then 2 sport touring bikes I owned and she came out and said "what are you doing?" I told her I was thinking about selling the bikes to get a track car. She said "ok" after I said "selling the bikes". Bingo - she's converted. Anthony - you are an inspiration. Not just a buyer but a builder. A Porsche owner's Porsche owner.

Anthony if any of us got professional help...If it worked...we would have, at home, two cars at maximum. One would be a Honda minivan or something otherwise large and practical. And the other would be some sort of small to mid size practical sedan.

Both would be a sensible color that wouldn't attract much attention and would be easy to keep clean enough. Neither would cost us much, nor would they ever need much in the way of maintenance.

Both would bore the pants off of us and all who enter our domain. All women or any other people in our lives who would have otherwise been attracted to us or excited by our conversations would simply turn the other way and not bother to engage.
We would waste away languishing around doing not so much and not much of that. Living simple lives, following the rules and contributing just enough to the world. Life would be gray or beige.

Many thanks to the psychological and mental health/therapy community, but they can talk to those other people....

Sometimes a little crazy here and there is needed.

Congrats! There is only one 911 in the garage, but the first thing my kids ask when we are leaving the house is what car are we taking.
