Default G-Pipe/Secondary By-Pass Pipe for sale!

I've decided to go back to the stock exhaust & have removed my G-Pipe, which I'd had on for about a year.

£50 to anyone that wants it!

did it make it a bit too loud Andy ?
i'm having a cat bypass pipe fitted as we speak, i wonder if that combined with a g pipe would make it too noisy for an everyday car ?

Greg,

It was loud, but I loved it! I want to do some track days this year & fear that I would not be able to get passed the noise tests with it on, hence the change.

Joey B. has got both on his car & as far as I know, loves it!! I'm not sure how much louder having a Cat By-pass pipe makes the car.

Apparently the cat bypass does increase the volume somewhat but not as much as a g pipe. Anyway i too am planning a couple of trackdays this year so i think it might be sensible to leave it. I couldn't image how gutted i'd be, being turned away from a prebooked prepaid track day!!

Too loud? For everyday use, I believe that's a matter of personal taste. While I'm not too crazy about the rumble emitting from my ride as I pull into the corporate garage (it gets a few too many looks ), it's just another compromise in the quest for better performance.

As for the track, I've never been rejected and you will surely come across louder vehicles ... but I don't have a decibel meter to provide the assurance you're looking for. Perhaps someone with a similar setup has anecdotal or factual details to share?

And yes, I do love the performance the cat bypass/g-pipe (along with cone filter and chip) provide.

Joey,

I agree that it's not too loud, just don't want to get turned away from my first trackday!!

With a catbypass even you might get turned away from a 'quiet' track day. Just go to the loud ones with whatever you have as you are running a slight risk anyway....

Christer, i remember you were worried about the noise levels of your car regarding track days (with your ghl exhaust and now your new bore increase i've just read about!) - have you thought of buying/borrowing some muffler cans? they just bolt on the end of the exhaust and take off 10-15 db's.
