Default 993 calipers

Recently fitted 993 turbo calipers with 964 turbo discs, yellow stuff pads.

The squeling noise is terrible.

Goes where brakes are hot!

I've read about anti squel pads ect.
or just try different pads?

I have the same upgrade but went with Porsche pads. No squealing.

what are yellow stuff pads? If you are talking about yellow Pagid pads then yeah, they will squeal unless you get them real hot.

I ran yellow Pagids on track, and switched to stock pads as soon as the track event was over

I’m running the same setup up front.

Front: 993 turbo calipers, 964 turbo discs, EBC yellow stuff pads.
Rear: 993 C2 calipers, 964 RS discs, EBC yellow stuff pads.

They squealed like a herd of pigs to begin with!
Like you they squealed less once warm.

Once you put some miles on them and they bed in, they’ll stop squealing.
Mine are totally squeal free now

Far from an expert but generally The higher the performance the more noise. The higher performance pads have more metallic so they can grip the rotors better. My track pads sound terrible until they are super hot. Unless you are pushing the car hard on the street you don’t want really high performance pads because they need high temps to work effectively anyway. Talk to your local shop or expert and determine the best pads for your intended use. Other possible option is you got dirt between pads and rotors but that generally corrects itself pretty quickly.

FYI
The EBC yellow stuff pads are a fast road pad to bridge the gap between track and street.
They work well from cold for the street and can sustain the heat generated from occasional track days.
win win
But they can squeal!!!

IMO EBC pads are junk and would never use them on my cars. I would consider street pads over them or could try some other compounds by Ferodo or Pagid but expect some squealing from any non OE pad with high friction rating. It also depends on how you bed your pads. I found EBC will leave material on the rotor which will cause squealing and front end shimmy.

BTW if you are mounting 964 turbo 3.6 rotors the calipers are technically the same as the 964 turbo calipers and you should have used adapters for the 964T and not the 993. If you are using the 993 adapters you will not have proper alignment of the caliper. So you should be running 964T 3.6 brakes with hopefully 993 rear calipers and didn't move your 964 front calipers to the rear.

There mounted on custom adapters, friend made them for me. 993 rear calipers.

Think I'll try and get sum more miles on them, think they are getting quieter!
