Default Heater control issue

Hi every one. I’m new to the site. I own a red 1992 964 carrera. I’m having issues with the heater control. Unless I have the heat set to minimum I can’t get the fans to run for any longer than 5 seconds (if that). Is there something I should be checking before I bite the bullet and but another controller.

There's no need for a new Climate Control Unit, but you should check the operation of your rear fan.
The CCU shuts down the two main front blower fans if the rear fan does not start as expected. See the pages mentioned above for details, and this page for a DIY test procedure:
