Are 911SC - 964 Dash's Leather or Plastic?
All,
I have owned many aircooled P-cars over the years and every 911/964/993 and all had leather dash's
I am currently in a debate regarding whether 911/964 dash's are leather or plastic - yes plastic
I say and have argued leather is the material used on 964 & 911SC dash's.
am I getting old and wrong??

Full leather dash are not common on the 964/911 cars. Most are vinyl.
They have vinyl covered dash pads standard.

Based upon what I have seen the vast majority (98%) of 911’s have the vinyl dash. Leather was an uncommon option and the stitching is the give away on this. Leather dash from the 80’s and 90’s also had a propensity to shrink and lift off so dealers often discouraged owners from selecting the option. This was also true for the door top trim pieces.
