Which way do your wipers point?
My wipers point to the left as you sit in the car and some in Europe point the other way I have noticed. When doing so, the EU wipers are well placed and sit a few centimeters above the cowl.
On my car, they sit below the glass and on top of the painted portion of the cowl; ugly.
Is there any defined placement, can mine be reversed?

take the trim cap off, undo the nut holding wiper arm on shaft, gently wiggle it off and reposition to your liking..as fas as park position, as Spyerx noted below dont flip them to the other side top do that you need to modify the mechanism

Dont flip them to the other side tho. To do that you need to modify the mechanism inside.

Just pull the wiper relay under the hood and stop them where you want. You lose intermittent functions, but with how little I drive in the rain it has never bothered me.

To answer why some wipers point the other way...
Porsche in their infinite wisdom made the wipers park in front of the driver.
When it rains the wipers leave droplets right in the drivers vision, whilst the passenger gets a clear view of the road.
So a common modification on olders 911s is to flip the mechanism around so that the wipers park on the passengers side : Wiper_Reversal
I guess it should work on a 964, but would be a bit more involved since you have to remove the fuel tank and air-con.
Also RHD cars have the wipers inversed compared to LHD just to make sure that everybody has the same problem !

My observation is that LHD cars the wipers sit in front of the driver and the same for RHD cars. I haven’t researched this on my 964 but on my sold 993 I followed this mod http://p-car.com/diy/wiper/

Has anyone who has done the swap confirmed that it's better in the snow? My understanding is that for snow- you end up with lower visibility because you will have a large hardpack of wet snow building in front of the driver.
Yes - i know- snow salt yadda yadda...but i drive mine as much as humanly possible in snow...cuz it's that much fun...lol. Screw the rust. Have the fun.
I've not swapped sides on mine yet because someone told me this- and so the project got shelved...thoughts?

To be honest...i think the guy in the Spec Miata was having more fun...cuz the C4 has way too much traction and civility in snow and ice...lol
But that said - Monticello is a fantastic club and the track with regard to facilities and design, is truely an amazing place, one of the nicest race facilities I've ever seen. They gave us full use of the entire track in snow and ice for the day. Very impressive place, and a very good group of guys. Lots of fun.

If you actually drive in the rain its not... The main problem with swapping is that the wiper no longer does a full stroke on the driver's side. It ends on an upstroke so droplets flow up the windshield. There were a few other issues/annoyances but that was the main one I remember.

Keep it simple, pull the wiper relay, and set the wipers where you want them... just don't forget to put the relay back in during your annual vehicle inspection (ask me how I know).

You don't need to pull the fuel tank to do this mod. I flipped the wipers for a while but ended up going back. I felt like the car looked strange with the wipers on the other side. Plus, I don't track the car to take advantage of the visibility gain.
