You can get upgraded roof clips that are wider and have a better profile. They make a big difference on air, water leaks and rattles. The issue is the vinyl top is not held tight by the clip so no matter how good the seal the top will not be pulled against the bar.

I had a chance to test out the new top today that was rebuilt by Dan and I’m happy to report that the top is air tight at 90. It does creak more though, likely because the top is in full contact with the chassis seals now. At least now I can hear the radio.

So I started the reseal process. First step is disassembly.
The front is not looking too good.
At $230 a piece, not exactly a cheap repair but getting tired of being wet every time it rains. Ordered the new seals from Sonnen Porsche. They had the best price.

I got the new outer seals the beginning of the week. Had to be ordered from Germany. I followed the directions in the video above and installation is very straight forward but fit was a bit of a mixed bag. The rear fit nicely but the front made the roof sit a little higher and I am getting wind noise now. I may have to replace the windshield seals now as they may have been compressed by the old roof seals. I'll post some pictures.
It's also possible that the last renovation of the roof added a bit too much material that is now in the way of the seals.
