I have just had new Bilstien and Eibach springs fitted, the car was lowered at the same time to the ROW RS Ride Height settings.
The dealer tells me it was not possible to get the ROW RS alignment specs as I wanted because the rear eccentric would not allow for this much negative camber. This contradicts the Excellence article on "Wringing out the Carrera 4" where it mentioned these settings are suitable for any C2 or C4.
I was able to get the follwing "maximum" settings:
Front Left:
Toe - 1.3mm
Camber - 0.59 degrees
Caster - 4.13 degrees
Front Right:
Toe - 1.4mm
Camber - 0.53 degrees
Caster - 4.15 degrees
Rear Left:
Toe - 0.9mm
Camber - 0.43 degrees
Rear Right:
Toe - 1.1mm
Camber - 0.46 degrees
1) - Do any of the more experienced track drivers have any advice on the these settings? I am booked in for another alignment in 200kms so any changes can be made then.
2) - Has anyone else experienced these problems with alignment on a C4? Or is it posible that the mechanic cant be bothered to try hard enough to achieve the correct settings 1 degree on front and 1 degree fifteen minutes on the rear.
Cheers
Youcef

Not sure about your exact situation, but the RS/Cup did use some different parts in the rear suspension to allow for the racing alignment. This incorporated different eccentrics and swapped "spring plates".

With Eibach springs and Boge dampers, my C4 was also lowered significantly (approx. 24.5" at all four wheel arches).
Front Camber: - 2.2 degrees
Rear Camber: - 2.0 degrees
I take my car to a shop which specializes in Club Race prep. Their mechanic confirmed that that was the maximum negative camber attainable with these components.

Hi
I have H&R srings (green) and Boge with RS alignment and height. Mechanic never said anything about having problems to get things rght. These specs used more tyres on the inside if you are a mopre agressive driver

Doggonit, JC you beat me to it. Although I can't understand why Youcef's mechanic could only get -.43 when Joey's could get -2, which is what I'd expect in back, there is a Carrera RS spring plate and eccentric bolt that specifically allowed greater flexibility in the suspension settings. Err, right, what JC said!

Gents thanks for the advice, I will discuss further with my mechanic maybe I need to look just at the eccentrics to allow the adjustment to be made. Tis strange that he could not get as much adjustment on the rear, might be a story there.
Cay,
Do a search on 964 C4 understeer and you will enlighten yourself as to why I am making these changes. I dont want an RS or I would have bought one, I want to turn corners without the front end washing away.

Youcef,
if you are not satisfied with handling take your car to a suspension specialist first before you make any modifications with other parts.
It`s unbelievable but a new setup makes a complete other car out of it.
But you have to take him to a real specialist and not to a tire shop.
Adjusting a 911 correctly takes nearly one day. Race Shops are good partners for this job.

Hi Cay,
May I respectfully suggest you look at Youcef's "location" in the identification bar. Out here there's no such thing as a "race shop". There's only the importer/dealer and they sell 5 times as many Cayennes as any other model. We're struggling to get a corner balance organised.
You're right that a new supsension transforms the the car. I did the PSS9's, sure sign I spend too much time on the List; it is a new car, and intentionally so. I can't wait for my new tires to arrive (which BTW are now 3 months overdue). To live in Germany and own the P-car ........

Hello Nol,
ups, sorry. you`re right I overread the location. Hmm, than you or better Youcef have a serious problem. Even the authorized PAG centers don`t
have too much clue to setup a suspension how the customer wants it - or
you have the luck to find a center wich is involved in motorsports.
Maybe you email Mr. Jürgen Albert directly - he own a free Service Center
for P`s, races and have a lott of experience. He is a kind person and I´m sure he will answer.

I have the same problem where I live. There are so few Porsches here that there are simply no Porsche experts around. In the end if it needs fixing you might as well do it yourself because it will probably be a better job.
