Default New Steering Wheel

I ordered a new Sport Steering Wheel for my C4 Widebody Coupe from Sun Coast Porsche. Should arrive today or tomorrow. Are there any videos or posts that go over installation. I want to make sure the horn works and the airbag circuitry isn't screwed up. I did search but couldn't find anything. I'll post pictures when it is done. Thanks

You may also check this thread. It starts getting interesting around post #5.

Also, for defeating the airbag, see my post here

Disconnect battery and wait 20 minutes or so before disconnecting or reconnecting anything, also remove the key, dont use the ignition switch at all and dont use the steering lock feature to hold the wheel while tightening it or loosening it

Now that I have the steering wheel, I realize that I have to remove the horn pad so I can place it on the steering column and tighten the nut. Is there a trick to removing the horn pad without breaking anything? There are no screws on the back like there are to remove the airbag.

I have no personal experience with this steering wheel, but from the pictures I've looked at, it appears to just be a press fit with a few clips that hold it in. I know that is how the horn button on my Momo Prototipo attaches.

There is a thread over on Pelican for installing on a 968 (I think this wheel is the same as the 968 clubsport steering wheel) called DIY installation of a 968 Sport Club steering wheel with some pictures.

Before you start pulling, hopefully someone else that knows this steering wheel can confirm. Maybe check the 968 forum?

Not sure that's the official name. If so, 2 small screws at 2 and 8 o'clock and gently wiggle toward you. It's on its own spline - fatter than the one the actual hub / wheel goes on. It's old plastic , it will break if too aggressive with it.
