My 964 sits in the garage most of the week, on the weekends I get out for about 70kms or so..family permitting. I generally then spend the rest of the following week cleaning the 70kms worth of dirt of the car!!! In 7 months I have done 2000 kms approx.
My daily driver is a Suzuki Samuri with no roof!!
Cheers

Nine64,
Fill up the oil in 4000 miles is no problem, as long it's not 3 liters. A average consumption is 1 til 1,5 liters on that milage, depending how you use your car. Fill till max or a bit more will rise your conuption till the level dropped a little. Try to drive the car with a level between min and max on the dipstick, see if your consumption will drop.........

Three Wheelin'
Weekends only, blasts up to Norfolk, business trips, occassional 6am 'Rendezvous'* drives around London! 8000 miles a year.
*For those who don't know 'It's a Rendezvous' DVD is an uncut 9 minute camera on front of Ferrari thrash around early morning Paris from the 60's? - Essential viewing!

Ok no one shout at me for this.
Winter i only use the odd weekend, thats why my battery was flat the other day. Summer when ever possible so on average 20 miles a week.
Only so many times you can drive round an island. Trips to France whenever possible
Cheers

Burning Brakes
Mine's my only car - daily driver. i rack up around 10,000 miles a year.
Its a 14 mile round trip to work (40% motorway, 60% country roads), and luckily i miss the traffic as i start at 10 and finish at 6. I love driving my 911 everyday. No matter what kind of day i have, its all forgotten as soon as i see what i'm driving home in

Hello Arjan,
$$4.20 a gallon, for 100 K miles, @ 20 mpg (?) = 5 K gallons = $21,000 ?
And if you push the pedal a bit harder, probably the 20 mpg is a high estimate?
$$1.75 a gallon, for 100 K miles @ 20 mpg (?) = 5 K gallons = $8,750 ?
So, over ten years @ 10 K miles / year you have gas costs of $2,000/year compaired with $875/year in the US.
I think Jay's 1100 miles per year are a whole lot cheaper!
But ......we could drive Toyota commuters for a whole lot less. And the smiles per mile would be a whole lot less. Which raises the real question.....why drive a Porsche?
Let's see. first it was the 'look' of my first 69 912, then the thrill of the 88 951, and when the 90 964 appeared in the paper for sale with only 50 K miles, a test drive confirmed it was ''the' P-car to drive. I'm hooked......now if we could find a good 993 4S tip for the wife to commute in, we could pry the 964 out from under her grip!
