Default Spitting water out of exhaust on startup?

Since it's gotten colder here, on startup my car is spitting a little water out of the exhaust. It's definitly water with a soot/oil residue mix. It only does it on startup and after a few minutes stops completly.
I hoping/guessing that its only condensation and not a big deal.
My coolant level has not changed so I don't think that coolant is getting anywhere it shouldn't be.

Any thoughts?

TIA
Jason

If your coolant level is good, then you should be fine. Mine also does this in cooler temps and so does my wifes Navigator.

Mine does it too James... the bikes just smoke (tip of the exhaust is about a foot higher than the lowest bend ~ which is where the condensation collects). Nothing to worry about if it's just started happening and everything else checks okay (coolant, driveability, etc).

If you don't drive much though, this WILL rust out parts of your exhaust (like the tip ~ I can take a picture of mine if you want to see how bad it can get).

Yep, make sure your car gets good and warm everytime you drive it, so the water that collects in the exhaust will dry up before it causes a lot of rust.

Yeah, water is a normal combustion byproduct. Don't worry if your coolant level isn't dropping. But as noted it will rust out your exhaust system if you don't get things hot enough and it stands in the pipes. Even a stainless exhaust will rust out.
