Question How to reach 200!

After a chip bought from Ebay, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and 77mm exhaust system from the wastegate back, baby easily hit 260kph about 156mph at 6000rpm. There is so much torque and power at that speed I am sure it could reach 300kph or 200mph, given enough room.

I am guessing the next item to change would be the fifth gear.

The question is: Is this a feasible job? Or Is there a 944 that came with wider gears?

I have no idea how much hp I am running. But I have no problems holding down 911 turbo's, WRX or most RX-7s and Skyline GTR's..

That's cool and all, but you're not going to hit 200mph without a lot more power. Why do you want to hit 200mph, is 156 just not cool enough? I mean you know w/your current gearing you can get to 156 faster right?

i thought (from an earlier discussion) that you would need something like 4-500 rwhp even with the proper gearing (because of the CD of these cars)?

who cares tho, even cup cars don't come NEAR that speed at the end of the back straight of watkins glen, and i sure hope you're not talking about 200+mph (or even kph) on the street...

For the opening race of the 1990 french turbo Cup trophy at Le Mans, the best tuned cars were clocked at 300 kph on the Hunaudières straight.
Gearing was stock but the rev limiter was not *

Former Cup mechanic told me the helicopter in charge of taking pictures could not keep up.

* That looks like very high RPMs, but I was not there to check, to be honest ...

I have an old car magazin and they tested a chip modified 951 with around 300 HP (flywheel). With modified 5th gear it reached 296 kmph.

Many years ago, I hit 293km/h @ 7000rpm (according to speedo) with the autothority setup. It did take forever to get to that, and I had to flip my lights off to get to that speed.

200mph- 320Km/h
187mph-300kmph
geez
I don't think even DFASTST951 could hit 200mph
There is a video of Skylne GTR running away from cops at 320+kmph though
I see a project coming - 200mph 951... hell ...even 04 GT2 top out at 198mph.
And i don't really know what kinda 911 Turbos are you walking with Ebay chip, 77mm pipe and AFPR maybe stock 930's Your car is fast by all means but you'll need a lot of weight reduction and definately more power to hit 200mph. Gearing is another problem. Bottom line i'm pretty sure you'll spend a lot of money trying to hit that mark and every 10kmph extra will require 10X the amount of money you've spent on previous 10kmph.
Isn't 160mph fun enough?

Vlad.

p.s. Speedos are also somewhat off when it comes to tripple digits, did you try measuring your speed with GPS?

Vlad, I agree with you 100% except the GPS, GPS can be quite inacurrate at times while traveling high speeds in an automobile. That is of course you are running the civilian system.

Christian, i read the GPS stuff right in this forum and a lot of it on vwvortex board. I'm pretty sure the speedo will be somewhat inacurrate at 140+mph and needs to be checked by an independent source but i never really gave it much thought or research as i never travel at those speeds
Vlad.
