Exclamation Group Buy High Quality Billet 951 8V Adjustable Cam Gear

Gentlemen:

Because I was unable to find/purchase an adjustable cam gear both here and overseas that I liked, I have proposed a group buy to a well known machine shop to make a very high quality adjustable cam gear. His conditions were simple, I needed at least 10, I have 6 sold already, so looking for at least four more interested parties. I can't mention the actual shop here on RL, but trust me he makes very nice stuff. Here is what the specifications will be:

Plus/minus 10 degrees adjustability
Slip Ring, Front Veneered & Adjustable
Laser Inscribed
Holo-Krome fasteners
Possible Multiple Colors, for sure Black will be available

$285 USD including shipping to CONUS 48
I will provide drawings soon.
Same person who did my gas vector ring head and 321 billet one piece header flange, trust me they will be nice. You know I hate junk.
Lead time is 90 days. Expect March delivery.

Topology:

-8 -0- 12+
Veneer hash with pointer
Three roller
Three lock
Single o-ring
Posi stop. (Can't spin off)

This is the concept. This will enable quick hot adjust no other gear I've ever seen has these features. This is very light weight.

Knowing Eric well enough, I know for a fact that quality will be second to none.

Would love to see one made with a removeable 36-1 trigger wheel.

The cam sync trigger is a Great Idea and a constructive question!!! I have my cam sync already, but let me inquire about this. Thanks!

That's a pretty good price!

I paid about that much for an older style piece built on a modified stock gear with only 4 degrees either direction...10 is a nice upgrade! (assume -5/+5).

Hopefully these gears are adjustable from the FRONT unlike a set that has been for sale for some years with "underdrive pulleys", only adjustable from the back, hence useless as an adjustable gear on the car.

I am sure the quality will be there...

Yes, as stated in the listing, front adjustable. With very nice hardware that will not rust. Plus and minus 10, not 5.

Here is his complete gear set for the 951 minus the new adjustable cam gear. The one in the picture is not a true adjustable unit. This will allow you to see some of his quality work.

Good, this would be really useful as a lot of us here use standalone. Two things that would make it perfect:

1. Make the trigger wheel optional/removeable. Shouldn't be to hard, maybe just threads tapped into the cam gear and attach it with bolts.

2. Include a 36-1 of the correct diameter so that you can use a sensor through the hole already in the cam gear cover.

Maybe I'm asking too much but then again I'm surprised no one has so far created one like this.

By the way, I am in no way profiting from this and No I don't get one for free, just trying to get something I need made and he was not willing to make a single unit.

MagK:

You got us thinking and bouncing our ideas off the wall. We are now considering making a custom billet skeleton cam gear bell housing. This will have two benefits, well maybe three if you consider "Cool" a benefit. It will allow more room for a proper sensor mount and any synch gear we might want along with the ability to "hot" adjust the Cam degree without removing the PITA factory bell housing cover.

Heres one someone else made, I also did my own version which wasn't as good but works. I'm sure you guys with your excellent skills can do much better.
