Are you dropping the engine out the bottom?
If so, then you don't need to remove the crossover, or even the dump pipe and front half of the exhaust.
All that crap is way easier to get undone once the engine is out.

My plan was out the top, but I can change plans and go out the bottom. I'll drop the tranny and pull back the torque tube first, the last engine I pulled out the bottom was annoying because of clearance from the shaft.
Hoping the torque tube to bellhousing bolts are accessible enough with the crossover. Swearing and swivels will be used, I'm sure.

Though, I would prefer to drop my radiator instead of dropping the box and moving the tt back.
I had loads of room after taking out the radiator and the bottom radiator support.
I haven't taken the engine out the top before...but after seeing how easy it is to drop it out the bottom, I'd recommend you just do that. After disconnecting everything...sliding the engine off the tt and lowering it down took me only a couple of minutes.

Cutt off torch... had the same thing happen to me and spent a week trying to get it out just to have a friend make fun of me and torch it off in 5 secs. He did it with the engine still in and I believe he cut off the tacked nut as well but sucker was off.

I just removed my engine a few weeks ago. Pics on my RAGE2 thread.
Removed radiator and bottom rad support. Remove the coolant hard pipe.
Remove head light bar mounting arm on the passenger side and flip the bar up and out of the way.
Removed distributor and rotor.
Used a pry bar at the torque tube....and adjusted the engine hoist up and down slightly in between prying.
Took 4 pry's and 3 height adjustments and off it came.
Never touched the torque tube or transmission.
Hope that helps make it easier.

Closure today. Finally had a few hours to work on things, and I took a sawzall to the crossover (just the tacked nut). I had to remove the brake MC to get in there, but worth it easily. Crossover is off, now just on to the other cramped work areas on this car.

Thanks guys, I actually AM keeping it for something vengeful. I also have the bolt that fell into the bellhousing on my NA about a year ago, requiring me to pull the trans/torque tube/BH/flywheel.... I'll probably bring them to the range and take pot shots at them It felt so good to take the sawzall to it.
