Remove turbo Water Jacket for Crossover removal?
Does the turbo's Water Jacket (right name?), circled in yellow below, have to be removed in order for the 4 nuts/bolts of the Crossover pipe to be accessible? If so, what kind of sealant is used for the threads during reinstallation?
Thanks!
PS: Damn the guy (I won't call him engineer) who designed the one-piece crossover pipe. It only makes the clutch job that much more difficult.

Why take off the cross over ?
I did my clutch job with out touching the exhaust.
I take that back I did remove the wastegate, you should check into Lindsey Racings 3 piece cross over pipe to put back on.
If you have small hands I think you can leave on the water pipe
1 piece cross overs what a pain

Do you have the 1-piece crossover pipe? Even with the wastegate off, how were you able to maneuver the bellhousing cover around the crossover, especially with the extra long wastegate dump tube of the 1-piece crossover? Was it like playing that game "Operation"?
Any extra information would be appreciated as it would save me a lot of time.
Has anyone tried the Lindsey 3-piece before?

I have the 2 piece, the bellhousing will come off with the crossover on, just a little wiggle will do it.

I have the 1 piece, so most likely the crossover will have to come off, right? All clutch replacement write-ups for the 1 piece says so

That is what I have read about the 1 piece also. Can you remove the wastegate ? if so I would try to wiggle the bellhousing off before I removed the crossover, nothing to lose by trying.
The crossover pipe is no fun to remove.
