Default What is this port?

There is a port to the rear of the lower AOS port on the block. Anybody know what this is? Is it a blank port? The turbo has been out of the car for several years and I can't remember if I removed anything from this opening.

It's a blind hole.
Likely used for holding the block during a machining process.

Which may or may not be correct as no one actually knows what you are referencing, thus the reason for no answers. If you want help in the future be more forth coming with diagrams and pictures, not something that is difficult.

Sorry for the confusion. I thought it would be obvious to someone familiar with it. Wrong...hopefully Pelican won't sue me for borrowing their photo. The arrows show the AOS ports. The arrow pointing at the lower AOS port is also pointing at the boss I'm asking about. Its just above the AOS port in this photo.

Most likely where the sand is poured out after casting the block.
