What to do with this 951?
So in an odd transaction I ended up with another 951 in the garage, and I'm not sure exactly what to do with it.
The good:
- 82k on the odometer, believed to be accurate
- Complete car (missing a few odds and ends, but nothing major)
- Fresh timing belt / water pump
- OEM 18" twists
- 3 script door handles
- 1 crack free fog
- Script Seats in good shape
- Working sunroof
The bad:
- Body damage behind the passenger door
- 2 red doors (on a grey car)
- Failed clearcoat
- Cracked dash
- Musty carpet (after a quick vacuum looks like they are not actually too musty, but the hatch carpet is destined for the dumpster anyway)
- Blown shocks
My options are:
1) Part it out
2) Sell it as is (odds are to be parted out)
3) Strip the interior, use as track rat with minimal investment
4) Sell off all the valuable bits and use it for Lemons or Chump Car

My team has one about 90% chump ready... it's really potent for that field. The car to have is the e30 and e36, other than crazy swapped stuff. 951 has no problem in that company, and the 22 gallon tank is important with the 5 minute minimum pit time for fueling

I wouldn't part it, sorry not at the level for a larts parts car

Well it turns out the car is getting a 5R transaxle, I thought I was just slotting in a 5P, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the stamping. Fixed a leak at the oil cooler, and now she is getting new fluid and going back in.

I'm surprisingly drawn by it and think its a way cool car. I would actually drive it as it sits, once the reliability "things" and fresh fluids have been addressed. As a person who grew up and drove roachy Datsuns to work and on dates, this car speaks to me!
Good luck with it.
