Do you guys think the splitter will look crappy if it isnt painted on a silver car?? And how much would be customary to pay to get the front spoiler and splitter sprayed?

hey brett - i just talked with brian perry (perry951) about this same question. i guess it comes in a white gel-coat. i think you can have it done in black gel-coat if you want, but it needs to be painted as the gel-coat won't really hold up and brian mentioned it shouldn't get wet. its more of a sealer/primer. if this deal is in effect for a month (or at least a couple of weeks...) i'll ring em up and get one done in black gel-coat. this way, when i get it painted and it chips up, at least it'll be dark - just like the paint. in your case, i'd get the white gel-coat and have it painted silver - or opt for black gel-coat and have it painted a flat black - it'd match the rockers and the bat-wing is flat black anyway!

Thanks Brian, I think I will go with the black that way I wont have to have the whole front end done so that the new silver will match the old. It will be a good way to hide the chips with all of the damn sand they dump on the roads. Up here they will dump 3" of sand for an inch of snow. IDIOTS.

If I go this route (why not -like someone said, $200 in P-car bucks isn't much) I mught consider a spray myself with (spray on) touch up paint...Any thoughts on this? I wouldn't just blow it on; I'd do it right with a couple three coats, some wet sand and a clear coat...?

The ole spray paint trick is what I did about 2 years ago with my AIR splitter, it is showing a little wear now. I plan on doing it the right way this winter with a complete car repaint.

BTW, I love the splitter

No e-mail. Just the phone. I'm sure he'll answer any questions that you might have.

I think we should have more group buys. I think it's a great idea and we all save some money.

Perhaps you could find another 951 owner wanting the splitter and share the cost with him (her). JustinL and I are doing that and it should make shipping reasonable except for the obscene UPS brokerage fee
