Default Red 944 for rent?

Hi everyone, I'm getting married at the end of March and I was hopping to get whisked off in a red 944, much like at the end of Sixteen Candles.

Does anyone have one for rent, just for one night.... or really just to get us to the hotel, which is 20 minutes away from the venue.

Or can we just take pictures with the car???

I'm in Orange County, CA. Wedding is in Newport Beach.

TIA.

Susan

Susan, your best bet might be to contact the local PCA club there. Go to http://www.pcaocr.com/ and see the Contact Us link, or if you're actually in the area, stop by one of their upcoming gatherings listed on their site (they have a very informal gathering this Saturday morning). Congrats and good luck!

Cool idea! And congrats!

I'm in orange county but do not own or know anyone with a red one...

Wasn't the car an early red 944 normally aspirated?

This kinda touches my heart...

Susan, I have a red 1986 944 turbo that has won several PCA first place trophys here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I also have a good friend that lives in Encinitas that I am overdue for a visit. What is your email? I would have to get clearance from my beautiful wife of 30 years and we would have to work out the details...but what a lovely idea you have. And a brides dreams should always come true! Bill

You could also post this in the main 944 forum, there is plenty of traffic over there (and that's where Jack Ryan would hang out if he were on rennlist, because he had an early NA car ) If you were in Houston you would be welcome to use mine, it's red with black wheels (albeit slightly different wheels).

The 16 candles car is an 85.5 NA car. To be correct.

Yes and she probably should hold out for the correct options and serial number as well.

The car Michael Shoeefling drove was an NA 83 owned by producer John Hughes, his birthday was on the license plate. If someone can run that ancient plate with Illinois DMV archives they can get the vin a locate the car. My guess is it's been parted by Lart years ago.
