Wow, has has nobody bought this. This is a steal considering that even a basic standalone (like mine) with no knock sensing or cam pickup is $1200+ all in, after you get all the R&D squared away

I'm also quite surprised no one as snapped this up. Wolfs are a great unit, and so is the safeguard! I would have went this route if i didn't get the M-tune.

Pretty sure Lindsey racing might be able to supply a base tune for this as they use to supply this exact configuration with the safe guard

Yeah, not sure why it hasn't sold. Wish I could use it, but it only has 4 injection/ignition drivers otherwise I'd run it on a 5cyl. Maybe people are scared of standalones.

Interesting, didn't know they used to run these. I've got several tunes that will at least fire up a 2.5L and make it driveable, just won't have optimized timing since they were setup for a 2.8L.

I believe people are scared of standalones. Some just like to plug it in and drive.

They use to sell them just like that. It would plug into the stock harness with the stock plug.

Here's a good thread about it

I hope this sells, mine is even better but no sense wasting my time if this one doesn't sell.

Its too expensive, for half that price it will sell. Too much superior options in that price range.

I dont believe it's expensive. Wolf is a quality brand. Used in the 944 cup in australia as a control ecu.

I would have bought this if i was still running my stock tune.

It is for sure not expensive and not really outdated for that matter, it just takes the right person to tune it, mainly Bob Boyer. I have $7,500 into mine and will keep it most likely.

It will do full sequential, COP, control boost, and all the basic stuff so not sure what else you need it to do other than a self tuning feature.

I follow ebay ecus for the last two years and for this kind of cash you get either old M84 motec or other modern can based ecu with usb port, modern processor and tricks in wolf v550 range or vems pnp which is new and plugs in directly, senses knock and whatnot.

Its not that people are afraid of standalones, its just price/performance/support.

The only reason for investment in forgotten ecu is the really awesome price which this is not.

If I keep it, I will swap ECU to V550 which is not that expensive, but it works just fine as is. Mine is plug and play.

How about showing a bit of respect for the OP? Price is subjective.

Sorry, didn't want to be harsh but that is the reason it won't sell since everyone is wondering. Good ecu deals always sold extremely fast here and I know because I was late more than few times, but eventually did catch nice rl standalone setup.

OP says it comes with 1000cc injectors, a new WBO2, knock sensing, and looks like it's already wired up for a 951. $1250

To put this in perspective, my MicroSquirt setup ran me about $900 after it was fully installed (not including ignition setup and tools needed to install)... of that, $350 for ECU and ~$500 for other stuff (crank sensing, injectors, wideband, sensors, wiring, hardware). If I modified my setup to include knock sensing and full sequential, i can pretty guarantee you it would be over $1250. So, this is a good deal even when you look at the budget alternatives, IMHO. Especially when it's ready to wire up.
