Don’t think we’ll hear an update till they stop celebrating.

But it from what I know. They mopped the floor with with MCA hammer heads times today.

The driver barton said on stage that they had more boost available and said there’s much more in the car.

I’m sure Rod will fill us in with some details.
But the car performed well and put down 2x 1.19 second laps.

Also im not sure why mca didn’t go back out on the shootout to try their luck even though it was wet.

Congrads to Rod and the team. Awesome job!!

Congratulations Rod! Followed you on live stream to see everything come together for that ULTRA lap. Brilliant performance, and superb strategy in dealing with the weather!

Congrats Rod, missed the live feed but FFd'ed through day 1 and waiting on full day 2 vid to see the actual record.
I guess you guys knew after that semi wet lap day 1 that it was a high percentage that the car had the pace to pull off the record.

So....., about that goal...?

Day 1 was pretty nice, waiting for day two as well. Is there anything on the RP968 that’s still stock? Floor pan?

That guy is hauling the mail!

Someone needs to cross post on the racing forum so the “experts” there can point out all the “obvious” mistakes.

The first thing they'll say is that the engine is at the wrong end of the car

Thanks guys, yea it's quick. I've got a fantastic team of guys behind this car. The engine had maybe a lap on it before the first day of the event, and yes more power left in the engine, this is pretty much the car we wanted to run in 2017, we weren't able to do much more with it this year.

I'd bet Rod could verify that the driver admitted there was a better lap in the car, probably turn 8.

It looks pretty obvious that even though the power is a huge improvement, the suspension route you guys ended up going down was the right choice.

Or more precisely, the balance between the aero and the suspension.

It's pretty clear that the car's attitude is way more stable than I have seen it before and compared to the others in class....on a whole other level.

We had a few problems with the brakes, and if the driver only has 7 or 8 laps over two days, there will always be more time in it. Controlling the downforce is a huge challenge, the dampers we use now have made a huge difference in controlling the car, particularly once it is on the bumpstops. And that is pretty often

Do you think you could benefit from using a “Free Valve” cylinder head setup? And are they legal regarding rules? If not now may in the future? What would you think about that idea for when the competition gets faster and or rules allow? Maybe in like two to three more years? If ever? And why are there no “super cars” in pro class? You all spend major $ on these cars but they’re built off cheap old chassis (that Lart pays to throw away) and turn them into an F1. Or maybe the super car owners don’t want to get embarrassed? From a four banger named Thor.

Rod, appreciate you popping in here this much, but hey, this is your thing-o,

Do you guys disassemble most of the car during the off time and what is the store procedure for the engine, do you just pull the plugs and spin it over with some top end oil to flush out the combustion contaminants or are you guys going to disassemble the whole thing for inspection..?

Was it rear brakes giving the issue..., I thought I saw some whiffs of smoke from the rear on a few of the hot laps...?

Bump this up when you debrief and make a plan, this thread is the best thing going here.
