Default Source for crank/ref sensor wire

I'm building a new engine harness. I use old one as a reference/core. My plan is to leave the wires that go between DME and KLR in place as they are in perfect shape and didn't see too much heat in their life. I'll replace pretty much every wire past the firewall with brand new one and new connector. However I have a dilemma - I cannot source the crank/ref sensor cables. The only good one I can find is aviation/aerospace industry certified and f@#$#% expensive. I don't want to use a guitar or microphone cable, they will not last long. Any suggestions will be much appreciated, I'm in US now so link would be great.
On the other hand I'm tempted to leave them in place, they are in surprisingly good shape (except for connector), I stripped some of the insulation and both cores and braid are nice and shiny... Still flexible too. I'm definitely leaving the Lambda wire in place - I cannot take apart the plug

You can use any good quality shielded microphone cable that has two wires inside.

Is this wire here too expensive?

I could not find a good source of that wire either I opted for the Lindsey Racing harness and rebuilt the rest myself with new connectors.

I just got through doing pretty much the same thing. I used tefzel 20 gauge shielded wire for the reference and speed sensors, and for the O2 sensor (search for M27500-20TG2T14). I found it for $.25/ft at skycraftsurplus.com. They sell in small quantities.

BTW, if you're interested I built a complete wire list in the form of an excel spreadsheet for the '86 951 engine harness. Very handy for testing a new harness.

You guys are awesome! Thanks a lot! I do not have to buy Raychem cable for $10/m. Quick question: what shielding would be better - braided or round?

Both those look braided to me. I went with the ETFE (Tefzel) rather than the Kynar.

You want the braided so that you can tease apart the strands and twist them into a single 'wire' much like the factory did.

My crank connector failed due to old age and I had the wires welded together. It works fine until I get around to rewiring.
