I think one would need to mod the hood.

Bead blasted tons of hardware from both cars.

pic of plastic bumper piece for reference of what the part is and the clip attached to it.

Hopefully sending parts out for plating in the next week or so.

Rebuilding alternator and bead blasted to get rid of corrosion.

Cool thread.

You need pretty deep pockets to convert to 16v, but if you are going Motec then that shouldn't be a problem.

Do you know what happened to the SDS system or where it is?

That 968 looks like a quick car.
I have a standard 2.5 block for sale, but sounds like you aren't hurting for parts (I couldn't tell which block that ruined cylinder is from, but assume the 400+hp engine, so is a moot point).

Keep up the great work.

The yellow car is Soloracer's car. It was in Excellence magazine in 1999. It's a Jon Milledge engine and yes a very quick car running Motec by Milledge and Kelly Moss motosports. The Cayenne block is also Soloracer's

Soloracer sold the SDS system before I got the car.

The engine that was blown was a 2.8L....2.5 crank with 106mm pistons at the beginning of the thread. I got it with the blown engine.

The 2.5 block is mine now not my neighbors and is now sleeved for 4030 pistons and an offset ground crank, which I will be building for him...the red car. The sleeves were done by Michael Mount.

GEEZE LOUISE! Sounds delicious. But upon reviewing the above photo... I'm just not impressed with the yellow car's speaker box in the back. Looks home-made

More cleaning with Naptha Final Wipe solvent.

Naptha works better than anything else I have ever used. Spray it on and everything pretty much just rinses off....engine oil, road grime and dirt etc.

Using a good spray bottle, solvent parts brush and blue paper towels.

Removed turbo and turbo/engine mount.

Naptha? Great tip. Very clean engine. What are you going to run as far as clutch is concerned?

In my 3.0 it's a spec stage 3 full metallic and full aluminum pressure plate.

The RAGE car came with a Kep 1 and I will put in a new Cup disk. If I remember correctly it had a 930 disk. It will be a 2.85L most likely because I have three 2.5 L cranks.

2.85 stroker.

Michael Mount sleeve work on motor I am building. It's the red car in previous photos.

2.5 L crank

Same format as refresh951.com

Thanks to Sid and Shawn for the idea and to Michael Mount for the great work with sleeving, decking, block repair and rod work

Neighbor quit the project and it now belongs to me.

To show how well Naptha Final Wipe Solvent works.

Here are some old dirty, oily parts.
