Default Hi, anybody selling a DME for a 951?

I destroyed my DME. I need another one. Anyone of you nice rennlisters have one for sale? My car is an 89 951, so I'm not sure as to whether or not I could use a DME from a pre-88TurboS. Thanks, I'm looking for a bargain, money is an issue. Thanks.

when you say dme, do you mean the whole assembly to incl. the circuit board? or just the dme chip?
if so i have the chip set arc2 from huntley racing.

Try calling:

Silver Star Recycling USA-CA(Rancho-Cordova) E-mail 1-800-783-4911

I remember calling them about a DME for my car but the one they have was for a Turbo S. I think they wanted $500 for it.

Are you sure you toasted your DME? I know you pulled it out and then you had a crank no start issue, but those things are pretty tough. I know I did not treat mine with the best of care when it was out and it is still running strong.

Wish I could be of more help.

I have been talking to a place called Systems Consulting (www.systemsc.com). Near you I think. Call 310-454-3716 before 10am your time and talk to Loren. He can fix them for $375. I have not done business with him yet, but he is knowlegable and helpful.

Cyrus, you're gonna need an '88 or '89 DME

Something from an 86 or 87 has a different number of pins on the DME chip.

adrial,
do you happen to know the number of pins on an 88 or 89?
coz when i ordered my chips from danno, he sent me the 24 pin from an 86 and my car is an 86 but the dme had 28 pins in it.
he mentioned something 'bout the boxes were interchangeable
if this is the case then i may be able to hook cyrus up
tia

so, is it the chips or the whole kitten kaboodle that is fried?
i have the pin right now and it's a 28 pin. there is a marking on it it reads
HR 952 DME. i also have the old invoice from the po identifying them as ARC2's i pulled this out and replaced it with gurus as i was running very rich and i didn't have the right equipment to get full bebefit of it's potential.
i live about 33 miles north of barstow in the desert( military installation). how far is san dimas?

hmm..we're about a good 2 hours away.
btw- the weather must be hell over there, I went to Victorville for a couple hours and burned, let alone Fort Irwin. As of now, I am not sure as to whether my chips are fried, or my DME is fried. I will be sure by tomorrow.
I'm taking it down to somebody close by, who also has an 89 951, to plug my DME into their car. Might do a chip swap too, just in case. I've been told by the man that looked at my car, that my DME does not "click", is this the respnsibility of the DME, or the chip? Because, my fuel pump does pressurize, so I didn't fry my DME that badly..

What does click mean?

Why do you think you've fried it?
