I got my rods from Droste engineering in Germany, those look almost identical, but are the real deal.

Maybe worth to contact them: http://www.droste-ing.de/index.php

They even patented this rod design:

This is how mine look like. They are all in 0.3 grams, cap and rod seams are almost non-existant.

lol...possibly not wrong but wonder why you assume we're all tree huggers? Just because we don't all run around brandishing fire arms ready to shoot anyone in the face etc...

Just like we call the guys on that east island sheep ********.

We actually have, maybe not as big but some very reputable automotive shops.
Pwr performance products.. I see a few people using these in the states
Fitzgerald racing in melb who do a lot of the 911 cup cars. they have their own 968 turbo (built to factory spec with all factory parts) ect.
We have the worlds fastest RB powered car on LPG.

Could be Chinese, I wouldn't know, sometimes you have to take things at face value. Have a look at there website, also spoke to Thomas who was very helpful.
Turbotim3 was using these in his s2 16 valve engine when he made 670hp on the dyno , so you got to say the Chinese do know how to build a good rod if that is the case !
Blade7 yes that did include tax as some how these came through to me as "repaired under warranty" on the customs ticket, not sure what happened there....

Well they are not exactly new to metallurgy

Recent evidence indicates that the earliest metal objects in China go back to the late fourth millennium BCE.

I had some indication that someone who purchased these local rods wasn't entirely happy with them.
I am still looking around.

Was this the first order ? Tim did get a big output on the dyno though there was a big end issue later, not saying it was the rod but who knows...

We can say what we want about "chinese parts" BUT... remember a lot of out stuff is made in china. It just depends what factory made it.
