Default Aftermarket Rods?

Looking at throwing together another 8v motor and get it into the car while we wait for the other motor. Have a nice crank, big race head and deckplated block at the ready. Going to order some pistons and was wondering if anyone has some nice aftermarket rods lying around gathering dust?

Hi Patrick, have you tried Pure Performance Motorsport right there in Oz ? My last two sets came from Thomas at a great price.

Funny, I was just thinking of them. I spoke to him some months ago about a crank but he never got back to me. I'll see what he has for rods.

Have you run any of his pistons? Does he make them for Alusil?

Not yet. Unsure about the Alusil, but I have asked for a price for a set to run in steel liners.

It just may suit me to get them in the US though. Timewise that is. Sleeved block needs to be honed and pistons should be with that block. I'll see what the local guy says too.

http://www.racetep.com/ppm.html

They are claiming this:

Made in Australia. Not cheap Chinese rods with no Quality Control
All rods are precision forged 4340 EN24 aircraft quality steel, vacuum degased to remove impurities.
The rods are forged in two pieces to insure proper grain flow.
All surfaces are CNC maschined and shot-peened to relive stress.
Silicone bronze bushings installed for increase wear resistance and precision ground alignment sleeves in the rod cap to prevent cap walk under high horsepower loads.
Rods are equiped with ARP 2000 Rod bolts.

Available for All BMW, Audi, Opel, Lancia, Most popular Nissan, Toyota, etc.

Pricing:
ALL Non-Custom Rods $189 Per Rod
REGARDLESS of # of Cylinders or Make and Model.
Click here for the List of Currently Offered Rods that are NOT Custom

All Custom Made to order from Sample or Custom Lengths, etc. $202 each Per Rod
REGARDLESS of of # of Cylinders or Make and Model.
Custom Rods in 5-6 weeks

Interesting note, looks like they changed rod design a bit. These look identical to Carrillo rods however I remember a year or two ago, they had few distinctive differences.

EDIT:
found the older style picture, piston side looks different..

100 % Chicom knock offs.... no matter what they claim .... just ask to see their foundry, lol.I imagine in tree hugging Australia runnning a dedicated automotive small scale foundry is almost impossible unless they have been there for at least 50 years.

This is all Chinese www. racingpartsmaximum.com and the rods look strikingly similar/same lol
