Looking for an oil cooler core that more long than tall. Having some difficulty finding one.
I'd like one that around 24" long and 6" tall and 2-3" thick. All the ones I'm finding are more square in shape.
Any suggestions on where to find what I want? I'm not married to a brand, Mocal, Setrab, etc, etc are all fine by me...

Try this site:
http://www.bulkpart.com/2/category/tru-cool-hd.html
Use the Tru-Cools on several of my vehicles, no problems with quality.
Not as big a custom selection as Mocal but pretty good stuff.
They also have the thermal bypasses.

The Lindsey cooler is about the size I'm looking for, but I'd prefer one with inlet/outlets on either side of the cooler. That's the way I currently have the car plumbed for one, so it'd be minimal work at that point.
There's gotta be a place that sells that core size in a standard Setrab/Mocal/whatever brand for half of what Lindsey is asking...

Spencer, yeah, that's about perfect! As tempting as it is to buy one used, I think I'd be best served with a new one.
Ok, found that's it's from an '81-'85 300SD, TD, part # 1261800065. Amazon has them for $346 with free shipping for Prime members. I actually have some Amazon gift cards too.
Going to confirm the size I need to fit the car, but this one seems like the best price for the size core. The Lindsey one is a bit longer, but is almost twice the cost.

these have a sort of ball-nose type of fitting to seal (not the threads), my local parker dealer was able to find a match or you can have the spare MB hose ends i have in a box somewhere.
i really liked this cooler when i ran it.

They're not a standard 22mm or -AN fitting? Do the MB hose ends crimp onto a SS hose?
Will definitely take you up on your offer of the spare hose ends...
