Valve Spring Installed Height
Can anyone tell the spec'd valve spring installed height? The manual uses a special tool which I do not have. TIA

Page 15-17 of the 8V engine manual shows 41.0 MM +or- 0.5MM for both the intake and exhaust valve spring height. My shop has the nifty special tool so I have done it the easy way, but you should be able to sneak a small bore gauge in between the retainer and valve spring seating surface to measure the same.
Pauly, valve spring installed height is very important as if it were too short, coil bind may result, and if it were too great, there may not be enough spring tension. But you are correct in that it is also very important to measure actual valve spring tension if you can, and replace the valve springs if in doubt.
