Default Borrow Elephant racing bushing tool?

Does anyone have this tool not being used currently?
Could we arrange a "rent-a-tool" system?

Doing bushings over Christmas weekend, the tool would be a big help but it's a little spendy for something I'll use once.

You don't need it. Burn them off. torch and gasoline. Then cut them off after they are crispy.

Yes, then use a wire wheel to get remnants of rubber off. Not a fun job, but fairly straight forward. Mike

I have the Elephant bushing tool for 911s at my shop and I seem to remember it did not fit the 944 spring plate. Maybe there are 2 different versions of the tool.

Nonetheless, the burn 'em off and wire wheel method works best anyway. An oxyacetylene torch is best; propane will do but it takes longer.

I used just a couple of minutes of heat from a propane torch and then separated them in whole pieces with a screwdriver. It was very easy. They went to the zinc plater pretty much as you see them here (I scraped away as much of the remaining rubber as I could but there were still very thin traces left):

...and came back like this - basically brand new:

I'm not sure if burning them away completely is easier - it seemed like it would have taken forever with my little propane torch, and probably made a lot of smoke etc. This way was quick, clean and easy.
