Default Anyone interested in a '87 951 project car?

I just picked up a '00 S4 and even I can't justify having 3 sports cars. I originally thought I would sell the rx-7, but I'm thinking to upgrade the 951 the way I want is more of a project than I need.

'87 951
Located in Modesto, CA
86k'ish miles (Odo reads 686k or something strange like that)
black/black
Cup Wheels
968 mirrors
Lindsey IC Pipes, FPR, FP Gauge, BOV, Fuel Pump, and wastegate
B&B Test Pipe (Stock cat included)
Guru Stage 2 map kit with programmer (stock AFM included)
Jet-hot coated exhaust manifolds
9xauto.com Short Shifter
9xauto.com dash light "upgrade"

The bad:

Had a repaint at some time in it's life. Looks good cleaned up, but far from perfect.
Normal electrical gremlins. Gauges hop around a bit, but probably just a ground issue
Both seats are cracked. 2 small cracks on dash.
Leaks a little oil. Could use front and rear seals.
Needs new CV joints
Guru Map kit could use some tuning, but it starts and runs fine.
Shifter is sloppy, but gear-changes are clean.

It really needs someone who has space in the garage and time to replace all the seals. I'll include all new coolant hoses and belts. I've used it as a daily driver since I bought it over a year ago and it only left me stranded once (bad AFM). It's been in the garage for 4 weeks while I have been trying to decide if I want to go with a 2.8 upgrade.

I can't think of anything else right now, but if someone is interested, let me know and we can talk price.

Just put the 951 up on Ebay. No reserve and it will sell if someone bids the minimum bid of 5k. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2432307879

More details here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...=&pagenumber=3

Interesting trades considered, although I would prefer to trade it for mod money for the S4.

Default I am doing the opposite

I am looking at buying a 951s and in a year getting rid of my 01 S4.you will love the car, a lot of tuning potential. I have put in about $3k to the car including suspension, brakes, and mild engine mods (chip + upgraded BPV and TBB) and I am running 320hp. Add an exhaust and some downpipes and you are pushing 350.

Take it to the track though and you may miss the balance of your 951.

Well, I think 5k is a pretty good price.. I'll throw in a California car-cover if a rennlist member picks it up.

Man, if I hadn't just bought 2 cars, a 944 and a 951, I'd buy yours now!

I agree... Even on the used market, I could get $1000 for the Guru kit with programmer, $750 for wheels/tires, $200 for Lindsey pipe kit, $250 for 968 mirrors. I just don't want to mess with it myself. If it sells for 5k, I'm basically letting the car go for 3k.

I've been getting quite a bit of email on it, so I don't think it's going to last to the end of the auction. If anyone wants to make an offer, now is the time to do it.

Sent you a pm...

If someone is seriously interested, I can do a PPI for you. Matt and I met once when he had his Guru kit put in. The car is all he says it is. If I didn't already have 2 951s I'd buy it...

(hey Matt, still have the speakers?)
